Abundant Health is combining their operations with HealthHouse another local Tauranga company, due to a shared belief in natural health and locally developed products.
John and Janelle decided in April 2026 that they wanted more time to spend with the grandchildren and pursue their hobbies. As they had been using Health House to manufacture some of their products it made sense to see if they wanted to work together. Mike (the Managing Director of Health House) was keen, but only if John came on board.
All products are now made in their state of the art factory and can be bought online or from the HealthHouse shop at 1 Whakakake Street, Tauranga.
John is still available to answer customer questions and will continue with product design and development.

Abundant Health History
Abundant Health Ltd, based in Mount Maunganui, is 100% New Zealand owned. What was once thought as the saving grace for their real-life health dilemma became a thriving business for John and Janelle Arts.
At 27, John suffered from low energy and regular headaches caused by a severe case of influenza. The next ten years of his life was spent struggling through the torture of chronic fatigue and post-viral syndrome brought by the disease. One respiratory specialist believed the illness had changed John’s biochemistry. At the age of 30, John met Janelle and in 1994, after only one month of marriage, the couple’s seemingly normal existence changed. Janelle, like John, began suffering from extreme fatigue. Janelle’s health gradually worsened and over the next four years, debilitating fatigue and associated symptoms stripped her of her ability to function normally.
In 1997, with Janelle’s condition at its worst, John commenced studying nutritional medicine in search of an answer. Together they began testing a combination of ingredients in search of a formula that could improve the body’s energy levels. In 1998, just four months after John started studying nutritional medicine, Janelle returned home from a regular consultation and said, “Something is different. I feel a lot better.” This was the commencement of OPC Plus and it was the beginning of Abundant Health Ltd.

Today, the Abundant Health range includes a wide variety of all-natural dietary and nutritional supplements many of which have been formulated by John and Janelle themselves. Most of the raw materials are sourced from the USA, of the finest quality with easily audited quality controls.
